With such a plethora of wrestling blogs out there, some even written by former employees of various wrestling organizations, why start my own? What makes me any kind of an authority on the WWE and its product?
First, I have been a fan of the WWE since 1991, when I was 10 years old. The very first pay-per-view I saw was on a VHS tape that I rented from the local video store – Survivor Series 1990 (which featured the debut of The Undertaker, who quickly became my favorite Superstar).
Since then I have watched nearly every single weekly episodic television show; downloaded, purchased or watched nearly every single WWE produced album or movie; going to nearly every live show that comes to Baltimore; traveled extensively for various pay-per-views, including Wrestlemania 18 in Toronto and every single Wrestlemania since 23 in Detroit; and spend nearly every free moment reading or talking with my friends about the WWE.
So, with a lifelong passion for the WWE, and a background in writing, journalism and communications, I thought it was only natural that I start my own blog dedicated to my thoughts about the WWE product and open it to my friends and any wrestling fan out there to comment and engage each other in discussion.
Now, I am what most people will call a WWE
“super fan.” No matter how cynical I become, or how disappointed I am with the direction of a storyline or the product in general, you will find me on my couch every Monday and Friday night for Raw and Smackdown and either at home or at a local restaurant (or live in person) at every single pay-per-view. However, with that being said, I am not a blind optimist; I love the WWE and will not only carry that passion for the rest of my life but hopefully pass it on to my unborn children, but that doesn’t mean in that I can’t be critical of the product.
So while some blogs out there are blindly optimistic (mostly written by kids) or pessimistic you wonder why the author watches in the first place (mostly written by disgruntled former employees), this blog with be a mixture of both. I hope you enjoy it, I hope that you will follow it and I sincerely hope that you comment on my posts with your thoughts and opinions.
